Train-online.biz was created by Fire Management Solutions and Aidgroup UK, after the two organisations identified inadequacies in existing on-line training programs.

Traditionally, training has been classroom based, either on a one to one or one to many basis. Increasingly, generic computer based programs, where all of the course content is based on a CDROM, are being touted as the answer to many organisations training requirements. Whilst these programs do address a need, they do have issues associated with their deployment and the content contained on the disc. The course content is always non business and non site specific, and as all businesses are different, this can lead to inadequacies in the training being undertaken.

Our programs are different. The on-line element is web based, therefore all of the content is stored on the world wide web. The benefit of this is two-fold. Firstly, generic based programs need to be loaded onto computers / servers, and many organisations are reluctant to do this. Our system, being web based can be accessed by anyone with access to the internet. Secondly, generic programs can only be updated by replacing the disc. By storing the course content on the web, train-online.biz can make changes immediately - and as only one file is acessed by all, the change is global. This is especially important in a world where standards are changing frequently.
